Fourth of July Celebration a great community event

To the Editor:

On behalf of the city of Cloquet, I would like to thank the Cloquet Fourth of July Celebration Committee and the many sponsors and contributors who helped make this year’s celebration a success. The community has had a long history of holding one the best celebrations in northeastern Minnesota thanks to the recent work of Lisa Karulak, our veterans’ organizations, and many other volunteers.

In 2012 a new volunteer committee came together and took the baton from Lisa and was able to meet the high standards and the traditions set previously and once again put together a fabulous day for our residents and community. The weather even cooperated during the day with a lot of sunshine and thanks to Lake Superior, the evening storm parted around the community at just the right time to allow the fireworks to go on as planned.

An event like this cannot happen without strong community volunteerism. I encourage anyone else who enjoyed the day to consider giving some of your time and energy to this committee in the future. So, hats off to the volunteers and sponsors for your hard work and dedication to once again bring us a great 4th of July celebration in 2012!
