To the Editor:
I want to send a special thanks to the Ruby’s Pantry volunteers for all their hard work during the June distribution. With only 1-1/2 days notice [due to the flood], we needed to change our distribution site. I was out of town at a conference but the volunteers made phone calls and put together what they could to make it all work. Then they worked under hot and unusual circumstances to provide our community with this much-needed service.
Zion Lutheran Church let us use their parking lot for the distribution, Brenny Dahl provided a fork lift to help unload the truck, Super One let us bring shopping carts to the location, and Cloquet Sanitary helped transport carts and clean up after the distribution.
When disaster strikes or problems arise, the people and businesses of this community really step up to the plate to help.
Thank you all again,
Sheila Peterson, Coordinator
