A 34-year-old woman was killed and two other people injured Saturday in a two-vehicle collision in rural Carlton County.
The Carlton County Sheriff's Office reported that the crash happened at 5:42 p.m. the intersection of Canosia Road and North Cloquet Road in Thomson Township, about two miles north of Esko.
A vehicle turned east onto North Cloquet Road and was struck by another vehicle traveling north on Canosia Road, the heriff’s office reported.
A 34-year-old woman who was a passenger in one of the vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene.
The two drivers involved in the crash were injured. One was transported by helicopter to Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth. The other was transported by ambulance to St. Luke’s hospital.
The sheriff’s office said the names of people involved the crash will be released after family members have been notified.
The crash remains under investigation.
Other agencies on the scene included the Minnesota State Patrol, the Cloquet Police Department, Esko First Responders and the Cloquet Ambulance Service.
