Last week I spent a delightful hour with the residents of Cardinal Court and Villa Vista. The event was the Annual Spelling Bee that I have held there for the last 11 years. Every year I am amazed at the spelling ability of the residents of these two facilities. It seems that even if the folks can’t remember a lot about the present time, they sure remember their spelling ability. This year the first-place trophy went to JoAnn Mapes for the second time. She also was first in 2006. JoAnn didn’t miss any words. Second place went to Ralph H. and third to Pat Hagen. There was a big group of participants for this event.
