The memorial service for Mary Katzmarek will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 16, at the Lakeview Covenant Church in Duluth. Please spread the word.

I just received a letter from John and Carol Esbjornson asking for some information on old friends from Wright. They will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on June 28. Eddie Hamren was their best man and they have lost track of him. Would any of you be able to answer this and other questions they might have? Their e-mail is cje627@charter.net and phone is 320-235-4630.

The Harvest Fest Steak Fry will be held Friday, June 15, from 4:30 -7 p.m. at the Cromwell Park Pavilion. Cost is $12. Proceeds will be donated to the Pavilion Park Playground.

Edna Samuelson sold the farm and has now moved to Duluth. She is no longer taking reservations for the Arrowhead Mini-Bus, so if you are planning to go on the bus to Cloquet or Duluth, you will have to call 1-800-642-6143. Please feel free to call me, too, for more information. My number is 218-357-2385.

The Next Wrong Days meetings are June 19, June 26, July 10 and July 17 at the fire hall at 7 p.m. Please come to the meetings to add your input and time. If you have any questions call Andy LaMotte at 218-357-2177 or email at lamotteservices@yahoo.com.

The Black Jack Grill is sponsoring the Third Annual Car Show in Wright on July 21 at the Wrong Days Celebration. Time is 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Registration starts at 9 a.m. All cars, clubs and bikes are welcome to compete. Register your car or bike to be eligible for 20 trophies.

The Classes of 1955 -1956 will meet at noon Saturday, July 21, at the Country Inn in Cromwell. If you have questions, call 218-879-2784 or 218-357-2721.

I just got home from a three-day Lutheran Women of the ELCA Convention/Gathering at UMD. It was a truly wonderful event and I wish more women of the Northeast Synod could have been able to attend. I think there were over 200 there at times during this event which takes place each June.

Preliminary plans are being made for a “Let Freedom Ring” Celebration at Villa Vista/Cardinal Court on Tuesday, July 3, at noon. You will hear more later, but put this special event on your calendars and also bring a bell to ring for this event. This is a nationwide event and it will be fun to participate in it.

That’s all the news from Lake Celebratethe4th and have a great week.
