Notice is hereby given that there will be a public hearing to consider a proposed property rezoning by the City of Cloquet. The rezoning, if approved, would rezone residential lands along the west side of Adams Street from Skyline Boulevard to Hwy 33 from the current zoning of Regional Highway Commercial (RC) to either Mixed Residential/Commercial (MRC) or One and Two-Family Residence (R-2). The property involved is generally located along the west side of Adam Street involving the following addresses: 405,407, 415, 419, 423, 505, 601, 611, 619, 701 and 709 Adam Street; 231 Granite Street; 230 North Road; and 806, 808, 810 and 812 Sunnyside Drive. The property is legally described as follows: The south 60 feet of Lot 1; Lot 2; the east 267 feet except the west 50 feet of Lot 6; Lot 7 except the following, commencing at the northwest corner then south 183 feet, then east 115 feet, then north 183 feet, then west 115 feet of the point of beginning; Lot 8; Lot 10; Lot 13 except the west 68 feet; Lot 14 except the south 16.6 feet all in Auditor's Subdivision No. 4. Also part of the Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter commencing at the southeast corner then west 140 feet then north 281 feet for the beginning then east 20 feet then north 97 feet then west 159.8 feet to Highway right-of-way then southwest along right-of-way 67 feet then southeast to the point of beginning; commencing at 40 line 233 feet north of the southeast corner of Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter then north 70 feet then west 160 feet to point of beginning then west 142 feet more or less to the right-of-way of Highway then southwesterly along right-of-way 72 feet more or less to a point said point being 233 feet north of the south line of Quarter then east 162.3 feet then north 70 feet to point of beginning and commencing at 40 line 233 feet north of southeast corner of Quarter then north 70 feet then west 247 feet more or less to point of beginning then west 53 feet more or less to east side of right-of-way of Highway then northeasterly 11 feet along right-of-way then southeasterly 51 feet to point of beginning and commencing at 40 line 233 north of the southeast corner of Quarter then north 48 feet then west 140 feet as point of beginning then south 48 feet then west 20 feet then north 52 feet then southerly 21 feet to point of beginning except commencing at southeast corner of Quarter then west 140 feet along south line of Quarter then north 281 feet to point of beginning then east 20 feet then north 97 feet then west 159.8 feet to Highway right-of-way then southwesterly along right-of-way 67 feet to a point then southeasterly to point of beginning.; part of the Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter beginning on 40 line 378 feet north of the southeast corner of Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter then continue north on 40 line 177 feet then westerly parallel with south line of said 40 a distance of 209.4 feet to right-of-way of Trunk Highway then southwesterly along right-of-way 180 feet more or less to a point said point being 378 feet north of said 40 then easterly a distance of 279.9 feet to point of beginning except beginning on the 40 line 495 feet north of the southeast corner of said Southwest Quarter of Southwest Quarter then continue north on 40 line a distance of 60 feet then west 209.4 feet to Highway right-of-way then southwesterly 62 feet to a point said point being 495 feet north of south line of said 40 then easterly 233 feet more or less to point of beginning; and, part of the Southwest Quarter of Southwest Quarter beginning on 40 line 495 feet north of southeast corner then continue north 60 feet then west 209.4 feet to right-of-way line of Highway then southwesterly along right-of-way line approximately 62 feet to a point said point being 495 feet north of said line of said 40 then east in straight line 233 feet to beginning, all in Section 11, Township 49, Range 17, Carlton County, Minnesota.
The hearing will be conducted by the Cloquet Planning Commission at its regular meeting on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at 7:00 pm at the Cloquet City Hall, 1307 Cloquet Avenue, Cloquet. Persons wishing to comment on the proposal may do so in person at the hearing, or in writing by addressing their comments to the Community Development Department, 1307 Cloquet Avenue, Cloquet, prior to the hearing.
