Rosemary Blanchard (Lemieux), 91, of Cloquet, Minn., went to be with her Lord on Saturday, June 2, 2012, in St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth, Minn., after a brief illness.

Rosemary Blanchard (Lemieux), 91, of Cloquet, Minn., went to be with her Lord on Saturday, June 2, 2012, in St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth, Minn., after a brief illness. She was born in Cloquet to Vincent and Anna Lemieux and attended Cloquet High School and the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth. After her marriage in 1942, she was employed by Boeing in Seattle, Wash., and worked as a "Rosie the Riveter." In 1959, she moved to California with her four children and worked as a surgical nurse at Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital. Several years later, she was employed as a medical secretary for a doctor's group in Toluca Lake. In 1972, she returned to Cloquet to work as a community health representative for the Fond du Lac Reservation, where she was a Band member. After her retirement in 1985 she enjoyed spending time with her ladies club, gardening, volunteering at Cloquet Hospital Gift Shop and the Ojibwe School reading to the elementary school children.
She is survived by her four children, Dianne Kartiala (Tapio) of Granada Hills, Calif., and John Blanchard, Ellen Bassett and Rosemary Bridge, all of Cloquet; sisters, Joann Loisel of Pahrump, Nev., and Anna Marie Locke of Cloquet; 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 8, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Cloquet. A celebration luncheon of Rosemary's life will follow at noon at the Fond du Lac ENP Dining Room.
