The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency Commissioner has made a preliminary determination to approve an application and issue a permit for a modification to the Shamrock Environmental Landfill permit.

According to a public notice from MPCA staff, Shamrock Landfill, Inc. has requested the MPCA modify the industrial solid waste landfill permit to change the ownership of the landfill from Shamrock Environmental LLC to Shamrock Landfill, Inc.

At this time, according to the MPCA notice, the Commissioner has determined that, other than the modification as to owner of the landfill, no other change in Permit SW-399 is necessary. The Commissioner has determined that Shamrock Landfill, Inc will own and operate the landfill with all applicable pollution control statutes and rules administered by the MPCA and the conditions of Permit SW-399.

The public comment period began May 17 and terminates June 18. A copy of the full notice and draft permit are available online at www.pca.state.mn.us/publicnotices. To receive a paper copy, phone Roberta Suski at 218-757-2082.
