NOTICE OF FILING FOR THE 2012 GENERAL ELECTION

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Minnesota Statute 204B.33, that a general election will be held in Carlton County on Tuesday, November 6, 2012, for the purpose of electing candidates for the offices listed below. The filing period for these offices begins on Tuesday, May 22, 2012, and ends at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5, 2012. Note: Filing offices will be closed for the Memorial Day holiday (May 28, 2012).

Carlton County Offices:

County Commissioner District 1

County Commissioner District 3

County Commissioner District 5

County Commissioner District 4 (Special Election to fill 2 Year Term, ending December 31, 2014)

Carlton County Soil & Water Conservation District Offices:

Supervisor - District Number 1

Supervisor - District Number 4

Supervisor - District Number 5

Affidavits of Candidacy for County Offices will be accepted at the Carlton County Auditor's Office located in Room 205 of the Carlton County Courthouse, Carlton, Minnesota 55718. Office hours are 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Candidates for Federal Offices must file with the Secretary of State. Candidates for State and Judicial Offices may file with either the County Auditor of the County in which they reside or the Office of the Secretary of State, Room 180, State Office Building, 100 Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., St. Paul MN 55155-1299, from 8:00 A.M. May 22, 2012, until 5:00 P.M. June 5, 2012.
