Wright-Cromwell News

I always take notice of the coloring activities that are printed in the Duluth paper around holidays, and this time Payton Rosbacka’s of Cromwell and Aiden and Amber Lehti’s Easter bunnies were in the paper a couple of weeks ago. Good job, kids.

I also noticed another article in the DNT about a dress and jewelry rental business called Bella Vita Coutures (“beautiful life fashions”), started by Jeanne Weimer of Cromwell and Heather Cahoon of Wright. The philosophy is with families struggling, the business allows girls and women who can’t afford formal dresses for special occasions to rent them. I’m sure you can call either of these women for more information.

All area retired teachers, administrators and staff are welcome to join them, just call Jean DeRungs at 218-485-4109 to sign up for the meal as they need a head count a few days ahead of time.

Cribbage players are also welcome on cribbage days.

There will be a Thank You For Your Support Welcome Home Party on Saturday, May 5, at the Cromwell Pavilion for Logan Shiflett, who has been deployed overseas. Food will be served from 4-7 p.m. with a dance following. Everyone is welcome. Punch and coffee will be served, BYOB.

Lake Country Power is holding regional dinner meetings to inform the customers of LCP about the new rate hikes that will need to be made in the near future. To get more information on this, there will be a meeting in Cromwell at the Pavilion on Tuesday, May 1, from 5-7 p.m. You must call Angie Hanttula at 1-800-421-9959 to register so they know the number of folks to expect for dinner and if you would like an energy usage sheet prepared for your reference during the meeting you plan to attend.

The Cromwell City Council is looking for volunteers for Harvest Fest and is appointing a committee from interested parties. They will appoint a committee at the April 25 council meeting and people should let me know before that date so I can have their name on the list for the council. They may be looking for additions after the meeting also but need to have the initial group so they can start planning the Steak Fry.

There will be a Spaghetti Supper on Saturday, April 21, from 5-7 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church in Tamarack.

That’s all the news from Lake Sillyandsi
