Bruce Olaf Eknes

Bruce Olaf Eknes, 58, of Cloquet, Minn., passed away Saturday, March 17, 2012, at Essentia Health Care in Duluth, Minn. Bruce was born June 17, 1953, in Cloquet to William and Bette (Kreitlow) Eknes. He worked as a house parent for Pinewood in Cloquet and also as a system analyst for Flambeau Paper, St. Mary's Hospital and Potlatch Corporation. Bruce especially loved his family, nature, and the home he had designed and built at Big Lake.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Cindy; his parents, William and Bette Eknes; daughters, Heather (Jim Bjorklund) Falk, Harmoni (Travis) Price and Jessica (Mark) McCuskey Zahn; brothers, William N. aka "Bubby" (Paul) Eknes-Tucker and Bret (Cindy) Eknes; sisters, Beth (Steve) Wilson and Brenda (Joe) Roff; seven grandchildren, Tyler, Bella, Olivia, Kayle, Luke, Greta and Grace; numerous nieces and nephews; and his dogs, Walter and Winnie.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to any of the following: Down Syndrome Association of Minnesota, Special Olympics, or Friends of Animals.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 20, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial service at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Cloquet, followed by a luncheon in the church social hall.
