Lorraine Anna Girard

Lorraine Anna Girard, 91, of Cloquet, Minn., died Saturday, March 10, 2012, in Sunnyside Health Care Center in Cloquet. Lorraine was born on April 26, 1920, in Cloquet. She married James Oliver Girard on Aug. 31, 1946. Lorraine worked at Diamond Match for several years.

Lorraine was a homemaker. She and Jim enjoyed camping and fishing at Leech Lake with special friends Eva and Ed Nelson for many years.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, James; her parents; and her "Special Sister," Eva Nelson.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Dorothy Girard of Henderson, N.C.; nieces, Diane Girard of Henderson and Susan Chase of San Jose, Calif.; godsons, Curtis (Kathy) Nelson and family, and Barry (Rhonda Erickson) Nelson and family.

The family would like to thank the staff at Sunnyside Health Care Center, second floor, for the wonderful care they gave Lorraine for the past 10 years.

A private family memorial service will be held. Lorraine will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, James, in Maple Grove Cemetery in Cloquet.
