Charlotte M. Zacher, 99, of Carlton, Minn., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012, in Inter-Faith Care Center, Carlton. She was born April 10, 1912, in Carlton to Joseph and Ada (Fahlberg) Zacher.

Charlotte M. Zacher, 99, of Carlton, Minn., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012, in Inter-Faith Care Center, Carlton. She was born April 10, 1912, in Carlton to Joseph and Ada (Fahlberg) Zacher.

Charlotte was the owner of Charlotte's Café, where she became widely known for her fancy attire and dancing feet. She served personality, along with her hamburgers, and was known as a listener, a joker, an advisor and a softie who whipped up a free meal for anyone who really needed it.

Charlotte has been featured in newspapers, magazines, travel books and appeared on the television show "Real People" as well as several local television shows.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Rose Zacher, Ellen Erchul, Joe, Jim and Francis "Babe" Zacher.

Charlotte is survived by nieces and nephews, Joanne (Ed) Dandanell, Karen Moore, Leslie Hughes, Shelly Zacher, Judi Hay, Joe Zacher Jr. and Richard Zacher; also several great-nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends Wednesday, Feb. 29, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial service in Handevidt Funeral Home, Cloquet. Spring interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Carlton.
