Raymond W. Everson Jr., 79, of Cloquet, Minn., passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, with his loving and caregiving daughter, Karla, at his bedside.
Raymond W. Everson Jr., 79, of Cloquet, Minn., passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, with his loving and caregiving daughter, Karla, at his bedside.
Raymond was born June 1, 1932, to Raymond Sr. and Ella Marie. Ray started working at age 9; he had a newspaper route and spent his summers at the family cabin on Big Lake where he loved to fish, swim and waterski. Ray graduated from Cloquet High School in 1950. He worked for Northern Pacific Railroad for four years and served in the United States Army for two years. Ray married Dorothy Arlene Anderson on May 19, 1956. Ray worked for ISD #94 Cloquet Schools for 25 years, Carlton County Historical Society, and Cloquet Wal-Mart for 14 years.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Sr. and Ella Marie; wife, Dorothy; son, Todd; and a grandson, Mark Thomas Parteka.
He is survived by his daughter, Karla (Thomas) Parteka, grandson Brok and granddaughter Brooke Parteka, all of Barnum, Minn., and granddaughter Kate Everson of Cloquet.
At Ray's wishes, a private family gathering was held.
Arrangements provided by the Cremation Society of Minnesota, Duluth.
