Larry R. Martin
Larry R. Martin, 66, of Carlton, Minn., passed away Friday, Feb. 17, 2012, at his home. He was born May 19, 1945, in Menagha, Minn., to Walter and Esther (Niskanen) Martin. Larry worked at USG in Cloquet for several years before retiring in 2010, and served in the National Guard. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Cloquet. Larry enjoyed photography, feeding the birds and watching the wildlife in his backyard. He was very active, enjoying exercising, cross country skiing, hiking, fishing, hunting and riding his Harley. Larry was a gourmet cook and enjoyed cooking for others. He was also mechanically and carpentry inclined. Larry will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Gary Lee.
He is survived by his partner of 34 years, Peggy Mackai and her daughters; brothers, Archie (Alice) Martin and Dwight (Faye) Martin; sisters, Joyce Haluptzok, June (Russ) DuFault, Linda (Bill) Lyons, Patricia Grund and Pamela Anderson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Monday, Feb. 27, from noon until the 1 p.m. funeral service at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Cloquet. Military honors will be presented by Cloquet Combined Honor Guard. Interment service will be at Maple Grove Cemetery, followed by a luncheon in the church social hall.
