William S. DeLovely
William S. DeLovely, 76, of Cloquet, Minn., passed away due to mesothelioma on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born Dec. 23, 1935, in Cloquet to William A. and Selma (Vehkoja) DeLovely. Bill graduated from Carlton High School in 1954 and served in the United States Navy from June 1954 to June 1958. He worked for the Potlatch Corporation from 1958 until 1997. Bill enjoyed his farming, hobbies, diamond willow woodwork, restoring red tractors, and attending antique tractor shows. He was a volunteer for the Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank, a founding member of the Perch Lake Volunteer Fire Department, Local Union 128, the Hebert-Kennedy VFW Post 3979, and the Carl Anderson American Legion Post 262.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Doris Bergeron, Donna DeLovely and Phyllis Hamilton; and one nephew, Bruce Bergeron.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Barbara; sons, William A. (Janice), Timothy (Wendy), Thomas (Lee) and David; grandsons, Thomas (Elysia), Nathan, Zachary and Tyler; granddaughters, Ebony and Rochelle; great-granddaughter, Lily, and another great-grandchild due in May; sisters, Patricia DeLovely, Alyce (Donald) Spoor, Nelda (Rex) Harding and Geraldine (Alex) Daemon; brother-in-law, Orville Bergeron; several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank all the friends at Essentia-St. Mary's Hospice for the wonderful care and support. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, at Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet. The visitation resumed Monday, Feb. 13, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial service, also at Nelson Funeral Care. Military honors were presented by the Cloquet Honor Guard, followed by a meal in the fellowship room.
