Darby Youngstrom scored 20 points to help North Woods top Cherry 69-56 on Monday night in Cook and move within 10 points of joining her sister as one of only three sets of sister combinations to score 2,000 career points in Minnesota high school girls basketball history.

Destinie Villebrun added 18 points for the ninth-ranked Grizzlies (16-2), who won their 10th consecutive game and improved to 20-0 all-time at home since the Cook and Orr programs merged.

Emily Youngstrom scored 2,024 points in a career that ended in 2011. Only the Millers from Rochester Mayo and the Noreens from Albany have accomplished the feat.

Cherry (12-3) had its six-game win streak snapped.

Esko 65, Cloquet 37

Six-foot-9 senior center Savanna Trapp scored 15 points and blocked nine shots to move her within four of tying the state career blocks record set by Cassie Rochel of Lakeville North.

The UCLA-bound Trapp has 639 career blocks for the third-ranked Eskomos (17-1), winners of 17 straight.
