Esko man killed in one-car accident

A 51-year-old Esko man died in a single-vehicle crash last Friday night in Carlton County.

According to a news release from the Carlton County Sheriff’s Office, a passerby reported the one-vehicle crash at about 8:35 p.m. Friday on County Highway 8 near Moys Road in Barnum Township, east of Moose Lake.

The only occupant of the vehicle, Steven Craig Polla, was transported to Mercy Hospital in Moose Lake, where he was pronounced dead.

The Carlton County Sheriff’s Office, Moose Lake Police Department and Mercy Ambulance responded to the scene. The accident remains under

investigation.
