Wright and Cromwell news

Helen Beseman Kzaley has had major surgery in St. Joseph’s Hospital in St. Paul where she is currently recovering. Helen is a native of Wright and is Jasper Beseman’s youngest sister. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

The communities of Cromwell and Wright and the surrounding area bid a fond farewell to Don and Jean Oman on Sunday, Dec. 4. The Omans moved to Cromwell 15 years ago in October 1996. We can only say thanks so much for all you have contributed to our communities.

Three Cigna disability case managers were recognized for excellence during the recent annual Dorland Health People Awards, created by publisher Dorland Health. One of these was Cromwell graduate Kathy (Kahara) Boudlali. Kathy is a disability manager, coordinating disability and medical case management. Kathy received her RN degree from St. Luke’s School of Nursing and is a disability case manager for Cigna Health in Eden Prairie. Congratulations on this prestigious honor. 

There are only 10 seats left for The Chmielewskis’ New Year’s (Afternoon) Eve Dance and Party on Saturday, Dec. 31, at Cromwell Pavilion from noon to 4 p.m. The cost is $20 per person, including dinner, noise makers, prizes, champagne, pop and coffee provided. Call Barb Dahl at 218-644-3691 or Florian at 218-372-3616 to sign up for the remaining seats.

A reminder that the Memorial Luminary Service will be held Saturday, Dec. 10, with festivities starting at 5 p.m. in the Cromwell Park Pavilion and the memorial service at 7 p.m. This year they will have a Silent Baked Goods Auction to help purchase flowers, benches, tables, etc., for the Memorial Park in Cromwell. The Bethlehem Lutheran Church Women will hold their Third Annual Christmas Bazaar, Brunch and Bake Sale on Saturday, Dec. 10, from 10 a.m. to noon. Items should be brought to church on Friday, Dec. 9, or on Saturday morning. There will also be a silent auction for the bigger or more expensive items.

St. John’s Lutheran will hold Advent Services at the church on Dec. 14 at 5:30 p.m. led by Rev. Larry Cain. All are welcome to attend. 

The annual high school holiday program will be held Dec.13 at 7 p.m.

The Area Clothing Depot will be closed Dec. 10 as there is new lighting being put in. 

The school is looking for a person to operate the score clock and act as bookkeeper for the boy’s home basketball games. Call Bill Pocernich at 218-644-3716, ext. 2156.
