Our sincere sympathy to the family of Heidi L. Hassel, 48, of Moose Lake (formerly of Wright and Warroad) who died peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 20, 2011, at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. She and her husband, Jeff, moved to Wright in 1996 and Heidi worked as a PCA in the area. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 3, at 9 a.m. in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski

Don and Jean Oman invite you to Sunday morning worship service at Bethany Lutheran Church in Cromwell on Sunday, Dec. 4, at 10:30 a.m. This will be their final Sunday attending Bethany and they would enjoy seeing all their friends from the area one last time before they move to their new home in Arizona. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Don and Jean Oman for their years of dedication to our church family over the past years.
The Villa Vista/Cardinal Courts Annual Christmas Family Night will take place Wednesday, Dec. 7, at 6 p.m. Come join the residents and families for a wonderful evening of music by Rick and BeBe, homemade refreshments and a visit from Santa Claus for the kids, too. Everyone is welcome to attend.
The musical group “The Downbeats” will present a special Christmas concert at Bethany Lutheran Church in Cromwell on Saturday, Dec. 10, at 3:30 p.m. A free-will
offering will be collected.
The Luminary Committee is now selling memorial luminary bags for $1 each. The Memorial Luminary Service will be held Saturday, Dec. 10, with festivities starting at 5 p.m. in the Cromwell Park Pavilion and the memorial service at
7 p.m. This year they will have a silent baked goods auction to help purchase flowers, benches, tables, etc. for the Memorial Park in Cromwell. Anyone who wishes to donate baked goods or buy a luminary bag should call Walter or Beth Collman at 218-644-3736, Lindsay Lally at 218-644-3739, Deb Templeton at 218-644-0985 or Jeanne Weimer at 218-343-5059.
St. John’s Lutheran will hold Advent services at the church on Dec. 7 and Dec. 14 at 5:30 p.m., led by the Rev. Larry Cain. All are welcome to attend. Their Sunday school program will be held Saturday, Dec. 17, at 4 p.m.
The annual holiday programs will be held at the school Dec. 6 for the elementary and Dec. 13 for the high school.
This year the Speech Team Cookie Walk will take place during the Elementary Christmas Program on Dec. 6 from 5-9 p.m. or until sold out! All cookie donations should be brought to the school by 4 p.m.
The Bethlehem Women’s Annual Christmas Party and installation of officers will take place Monday, Dec. 5, at 6 p.m. at the church. Please remember to bring food for the potluck supper. Please note the date has changed due to the Villa Vista Family Night on Wednesday, Dec. 7. We hope you can attend both of these events. Be sure to invite some guests and you can also pick up your new 2012 Schedule of Events Booklets for the coming year.
The Bethlehem Sunday school will have their program on Dec. 18 at 3 p.m. Kids need to be in church to practice and will last longer on Dec. 11 and 18 for practice.
