Four Cloquet-Esko-Carlton players score hat tricks

Karson Kuhlman, Westin Michaud, Nate Niemi and Drew Dincau accomplished what could be a state record by all notching hat tricks in the Lumberjacks' 13-1 pasting of Cambridge-Isanti in a high school boys hockey game Tuesday night at Northwoods Arena in Cloquet.

Karson Kuhlman, Westin Michaud, Nate Niemi and Drew Dincau accomplished what could be a state record by all notching hat tricks in Cloquet-Esko-Carlton’s 13-1 pasting of Cambridge-Isanti in a high school boys hockey game Tuesday night at Northwoods Arena in Cloquet.

Kuhlman had two of the Lumberjacks’ five first-period goals, Niemi and Dincau netted one in each period and Michaud scored his final two in the third.

CEC improved to 4-2 heading into Thursday’s game against Duluth East.
