Council to hold public hearing on future landfills in Cloquet

On Nov. 8, the members of the Cloquet Planning Commission voted unanimously to recommend the city council adopt a landfill report done by city staff and planning commission members as well as approve a resolution amending the municipal code that would prohibit any new landfills or future landfill expansion within city limits.

The Cloquet City Council will hold a public hearing on the landfill study and proposed code changes relating to landfills at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, at City Hall. A second meeting (if needed) is set for Nov. 23.
