The individual girls tennis season came to an end for Cloquet-Esko-
Carlton’s Victoria Marinho on Tuesday.
The ’Jacks top singles player fell 6-4, 6-0 to Andover’s Destiny Lee in the quarterfinals of the Section 7AA tournament in Duluth.
Prior to that matchup, Marinho, who received a first-round bye as the top seed in the north subsection, defeated Hibbing’s Nicole Blagoue 6-1, 6-0.
CEC’s Dana Hartmann was eliminated in the round of sixteen in a three-set loss to Hibbing’s Emily Milani. Scores were 2-6, 6-0, 6-2. She defeated Big Lake’s Jessica Nelson 6-1, 6-0 in her first round match as the third seed in the north subsection.
CEC’s doubles team of Lizz Jezierski and Stephanie Campbell was
eliminated in the first round and the team of Alyssa Acheson and Reilly Kedrowski lost a tough 7-6, 6-2 match to Hermantown’s Hannah Peterson and Joanna Carlson.
