Police seek information about mystery stabbing

The Cloquet Police Department is looking for information about a

stabbing that occurred early in the morning Tuesday.

At approximately 2:40 a.m. Tuesday, officers responded to an emergency 911 call regarding a 31-year-old male who was cut up and bleeding. According to Police Chief Wade Lamirande, officers determined that the victim had been involved in an altercation involving a knife near Cloquet Avenue and 14th Street.

The victim suffered cuts and lacerations to several areas of his body. He was transported to Essentia Health (formerly St. Mary’s Hospital) in Duluth with serious injuries and underwent surgery.

Lamirande said that the victim refused to cooperate with police during the initial investigation and the case is under investigation.
