The Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College Thunder football team suffered a tough setback on Saturday, falling 35-22 to Northland Community College in that school’s homecoming game.
The Thunder are now 2-4 overall and 1-1 in the North Division of the Minnesota College Athletic Conference.
Quarterback Mike Davis was 16-for-44 through the air for 217 yards and a pair of scoring strikes to Brandon Peterson, who caught five passes for 56 yards.
Cloquet’s Anthony Wood also hit a 36-yard field goal for the Thunder.
Defensively, Barnum freshman Josh Hogan had seven tackles and an interception from his linebacker position while standout defensive lineman Darnell Colvin had 13 tackles and a sack. Ronald Johnson added 10 tackles and another sack for the Thunder.
The Thunder will next be in action on Saturday at Bromberg Field in Cloquet against Ridgewater. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
