Outlook: hree of quarterback Sean Kedrowski’s five pass completions went for touchdowns and Cloquet rushed for more than 200 yards in a 49-30 win over Greenway/Nashwauk-Keewatin, keeping the Lumberjacks second in the conference behind Hermantown. Kedrowski (44 completions, 80 attempts, 636 yards, 8 TDs) has given Cloquet a more dynamic offense, with Kaleb Kadelbach (11 receptions, 296 yards), Austin Gotchnik (11-110) and Nathaniel Niemi (8-129) being his prime receivers. Marquez Evans (52 rushes, 325 yards) and Henry Backus (43-250) have led the ground attack, though Backus missed last week’s game and Evans was injured. … The Rails downed Deer River 33-6 in nonconference action as Alex Greene rushed 17 times for 145 yards to lead a 314-yard team rushing effort. The defense held the Warriors to 149 total yards. Proctor beat Cloquet 28-23 in the 2011 regular season but lost 23-20 on a last-second field goal in the Section 7AAA semifinals.

Outlook: he Panthers won their fourth consecutive game, scoring 30 points in the first half of a 42-18 victory over Northeast Range in Culver. QB Kody Karppinen (39-for-60, 657 yards, 7 TDs) was 8-for-8 for 200 yards and three TDs, two to Colton Peterson. Drew Janke (15 receptions, 312 yards, 3 TDs) caught one TD pass and returned a kickoff 75 yards for another score. Robbie McQuade returned an interception 70 yards for a touchdown as South Ridge won its fourth game in a row. … Unable to stop Deven Rowe’s 250-yard rushing, six-TD performance, the Grizzlies were hammered by fellow unbeaten Mountain Iron-Buhl 56-22. That dropped the combined Cook-Orr program out of the Nine-Man state rankings. Jaret Sandberg (55-422, 10 TDs), Travis Hooper (25-382, 15.3 yards per carry) and Bryan Linn (17-283, 16.6 ypc) give the Grizzlies several rushing options. North Woods won both regular-season meetings a year ago, 57-6 and 30-6.
