Updated: Man found dead at accident scene

Luke Mundell, 22, was found dead at the scene of a motor vehicle accident early Sunday morning.

A 22-year-old man was found dead at the scene of a motor vehicle accident early Sunday morning after a passing motorist called 911 to report what appeared to be a dead person on East North Cloquet Road near Mitzner Road in Thomson Township.

Carlton County Sheriff’s Office, the Minnesota State Patrol, the Esko Fire Department and the Cloquet Ambulance responded to the call and found the body of Luke Tyler Mundell, of Cloquet. Mundell appeared to be the lone occupant of the vehicle, according to a press release from the Carlton County Sheriff's office.

Funeral services for Mundell, a 2007 Carlton High School graduate, are set for Thursday afternoon.

The accident is under investigation.
