Cloquet police say three people were arrested early today after reportedly holding up a house party at gunpoint and firing a shot when their demands for money were not met.

According to a news release, Cloquet officers were called to a home on Maplewood Avenue at about 1:19 a.m. on a report of individuals with weapons at a house party. At the scene, officers were told that the suspects had entered a garage at the home, brandished a handgun, and demanded money from partygoers.

When the demands were not met, a shot was fired into the ceiling of the garage, police said.

The suspects fled the scene and went into a wooded area near the home. Two juvenile males and an adult male were later arrested without incident. The juveniles were taken to the Arrowhead Juvenile Center in Duluth, and the man was lodged at the Carlton County Law Enforcement Center, pending formal charges. The incident remains under investigation.

The Carlton County Sheriff's Office and the Fond du Lac Police Department assisted at the scene.
