Well, we made it through the hot humid month of July without much weather damage to most of us. The hay got made, the roadsides got mowed, folks went on vacations, the All-School Reunion went well, and most of us managed to stay cool. But, there was one family that experienced the loss of their home on Prairie Lake Road when the wind blew so hard that a huge tree fell lengthwise on their mobile home, totally destroying it. John and Sue Arfman were the unlucky family and they will be in need of help re-establishing their lives. For the time being, they have moved into Southview Apartments in Cromwell. So, if you can be of help to this family, call Laura Simi at 218-273-0053 as she is planning a benefit for them on Sept. 17. This will include a spaghetti feed from 1-7 p.m., entertainment and drawings. Sue Arfman has been an employee at Villa Vista for over 25 years, so she is a real contributing member of our area. If you have items to donate to the family, also call Laura for more information. They lost everything in their home so any items will be helpful. John also broke his leg as a result of this.
I have had many requests for copies of the All-School Reunion books. There are only about 10 left, so I am having a second printing made. These will be available in about a month, and I will have them for sale at Harvest Fest on Sept. 10 in Cromwell. They are still $10 and you can reserve your copy by calling or emailing me and I will put you on the list. My phone number is 218-357-2385 or you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Tri-Community Food Shelf will be happy to accept donations of fresh garden produce from persons who would like to donate their extras. They are open every Friday from 3-5:30 p.m. in Cromwell and will accept donations from 3-4 p.m. so they can distribute the items that day. Please do not leave items when they are not there! Thanks from Dianne Knoben of the Tri-Community Food Shelf, 218-426-4067. Send monetary donations to 49739 202nd Place, Tamarack, MN 55787.

Congratulations to Matt and Katy Hakala who were married on July 30.
School will resume Sept. 6 so if you are new to the area or know of anyone new to the area, please have them go to the school and register. I hear there are a record number of kindergarteners entering school this year.
That’s all the news from Lake Onlyfourweekstillschoolresumes and Hello to Matt and Katy and all the folks who attended their wedding and
