Pine Journal looking for readers to serve on the advisory boardWe want to know what you like and don’t like about the Pine Journal, what you think about issues in the county, who would make a good Neighbors subject and anything else that pops into your head.
By: Jana Peterson, Pine Journal
Dear outspoken readers,
We’re looking for a few good people to help out at the Pine Journal once a month.
We can pay with coffee, water, homemade banana bread, cupcakes and the occasional piece of fruit.
In return, we’re hoping we can pick your brain as a member of a Pine Journal advisory board.
We want to know what you like and don’t like about the Pine Journal, what you think about issues in the county, who would make a good Neighbors subject and anything else that pops into your head.
You don’t have to be a journalism major or even a high school graduate, you only have to be an outspoken and ardent reader of the local newspaper who is clued into your favorite Carlton County town or township.
It’s not about hashing out the official editorial viewpoint of the Pine Journal – since we sign our names to opinion pieces, we take all the blame for that. It’s a chance to talk about what’s going on in Carlton County, what’s coming up and what used to happen.
Hopefully, this monthly hour-long meeting will result in better coverage of the issues facing our county, and more communication between the Pine Journal and the people who live here.
Fancy meeting some new and/or old friends over coffee at the Pine Journal for lively discussion? Then contact me, Editor Jana Peterson, at the office at 218-879-1950 or via e-mail at email@example.com. We are looking for a diverse group of people to make up our first advisory board, but we can only fit about seven people at the kitchen table.
Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you. Please include your contact information so I can get back to you promptly.
Jana Peterson, editor
