Gitchi Gummi U17 defended their U16 titl
The Gitchi Gummi U17 Boys C1Tournament Team defended their U16 title and won the NSC Cup U17 Championship game over Rochester Euro May 28-29 at the National Sports Center in Blaine, Minn.

The Gitchi Gummi U17 Boys C1Tournament Team defended their U16 title and won the NSC Cup U17 Championship game over Rochester Euro May 28-29 at the National Sports Center in Blaine, Minn. Three Cloquet-Esko-Carlton varsity soccer players are members of this team: Landen Straub, Jarad Weeks and Hunter Leon. They won in a shoot-out after a score of 0-0 in regulation time and two five-minute scoreless overtimes. Jarad Weeks, the winning goaltender, stopped two of three balls in the shoot-out.
