Wrenshall JV falls to Hermantown 6-4

By: Tyler Korby, Pine Journal

The Wrens were again competitive, but came up short.

In just their second game this spring, the Wrenshall junior varsity baseball team played a tight contest, only to lose again in a 6-4 road defeat last Friday in Hermantown.

“I was pleased, we played better,” said Coach Doug Frank. “We had fewer errors in the field and our pitching was improved, too. Our bats were just quiet. We had only two hits.”

Playing the Hawks’ freshmen squad, Wrenshall’s Jack Dolter was the losing pitcher, while he and Andrew Frank had the only hits for the Wrens (0-2), who also lost to the Carlton JV.

The Wrens will next play Friday at Grand Marais.
