Esko girls win Section 7A True Team – again

The Eskomos have heard this tune before.

In dominating fashion, the Esko girls track and field team won the 14-team Section 7A True Team competition Tuesday in Holdingford, Minn. According to coach Tim Lindquist, his ladies did it quite easily.

“I think it’s the fourth or fifth time we’ve won it in a row,” he said. “The girls ran well. Their goal was to win another True Team section title and they came down here and did it pretty handily.”

With storms circling around the event, Lindquist said they were lucky it wasn’t cancelled. The Esko boys placed third, falling short of a repeat title from last year. The Esko girls will now head to the state True Team meet set in Stillwater, Minn., on Saturday, May 21.
