Running: Duluth resident 4th in Ice Age 50-miler

Duluth resident Christi Nowak was fourth in the women’s division of Saturday’s Ice Age Trail 50-mile race in LaGrange, Wis.

Duluth resident Christi Nowak was fourth in the women’s division of Saturday’s Ice Age Trail 50-mile race in LaGrange, Wis. Denise Bourassa, 42, of Bend, Ore., was first in 7 hours, 12 minutes, 37 seconds and Nowak, 24, finished in 8:11:52.

Zach Bitter, 26, of Marinette, Wis., led overall in a field of 286 in 6:04:45.

  • Brent Smith of Esko was third overall in a field of 153 in Saturday’s Northern Lakes 10-mile run in White Bear Lake, Minn. Jake Marotz, 24, of St. Paul won in 54:01. Smith, 56, finished in 59:39 and Jerimy Hallsten, 37, of Esko was fourth in 1:01:32.
