Swiss Steak Dinner
St. Philip Neri Church will host their 13th annual dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, March 6, at the Industrial Town Hall, 7519 Albert Road, Saginaw. Cost is $8 for adults, $3.50 for children age 6-12, and free for children 5 and under. There will be raffle drawings, too!
AARP Driver Safety Program
A refresher class will be held Monday, March 7, 5-9 p.m. at Esko High School (call 218-879-4038 to register); and Friday, March 25, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cromwell Park Pavilion (218-644-3739). A first-time class will be held Friday, March 11, from 1-5 p.m. and Saturday, March 12, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cloquet Senior Center (218-879-4663).

Carlton County Retired Men’s Group

Cloquet’s Fourth of July
The committee will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, at Cheer’s in Cloquet. If you can volunteer some time this Fourth of July, please attend the meeting. The Cloquet Area MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) group invites all moms with children ages birth through kindergarten to its monthly meeting from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 10, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Cloquet. Friends of Animals of Carlton County will present their 9th Annual Northeastern Mojakka Cook-Off, to be held from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, March 13, at the historic Northeastern Saloon and Grille on Dunlap Island in Cloquet. Taste 10-15 Finnish mojakka soups (bread and coffee provided) for a $6 donation at the door. There is no fee to enter the contest. The Arrowhead Regional Development Commission’s Area Agency on Aging will offer free on-site health insurance counseling by appointment only at Volunteer Services of Carlton County, 1219 14th St., Cloquet. Assistance regarding benefits, appeals, forms, Medicare savings programs, the Prescription Drug Program, reviewing Medicare statements and health supplement statements can be provided.
