The Two Harbors Police Department is cautioning citizens of a new Internet scam going on.

There have been numerous reports recently regarding a “rental” property in Two Harbors that is listed on the Craigslist online classifieds website. Once someone inquires about the property, the e-mailer states they are a missionary working in Africa and then proceeds to ask for personal information.

Police are asking residents to be cautious about anything that asks you to wire money, give out personal information, or states that they are recently relocated out of the country.

Chances are that those types of emails are a scam. Anyone with questions is asked to contact the police department by calling (218) 834-5566.
