U.S. Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) recently met with Fond du Lac tribal leaders and toured the Min No Aya Win Clinic, which he said should serve as a model for quality health care delivery for Native Americans across the country.
“As a member of the Indian Affairs Committee, I know that Fond du Lac and other tribes across Minnesota face some daunting challenges,” said Sen. Franken. “As the new Congress begins its work, I’ll bring attention to the Min No Aya Win health center’s efforts to improve health care at Fond du Lac and hold it up as a model for the rest of the Indian Health Service and the nation.”
Sen. Franken, a member of the Senate Indian Affairs Committee, also sat down with key members of the Tribal council to discuss challenges facing the tribe, including education, health care, and crime prevention.
