The day dawned cold and bright for Winterfest 2011, but a windchill warning didn't deter the toughest citizens of this Northland paradise. There was sledding, skating and snow sculptures to be enjoyed and, by golly, they enjoyed.
More than 100 people came out to enjoy the snow sculptures and vote for their favorite.
There was a tie for first place:
Team Community Connect with Louisa Barlage, April Umshler, Christina Voeltz, and Tanya Erdman carved a Yellow Submarine.
The other first place winner was Dan Savoye who carved an angel.
2nd Place: Elephant by Adam Kemptar
3rd Place: A House by the Pokornowski Family, Brent, Evan, Tim, Markus, and Madelyn.
