Esko skiers place in Region One competition
Two Esko freshmen skied to second and third place in their class at the Spirit Mountain U.S.S.A races Jan. 1-2 in Duluth. Approximately 280 skiers ages 6-21 from the upper Midwest and Canada participated in the United States Ski and Snowboard Association Region One competition.

Paige Tranah placed second in class and 21st overall in the Slalom race Jan. 1. She also placed 10th in class in the Giant Slalom race Jan. 2.
Alex DeRocher placed third in class and 11th overall in the Giant Slalom race Jan. 2. The past two seasons he has qualified for Central division U.S. Team and raced in the Junior Nationals.
Both Tranah and DeRocher race for the Duluth Alpine Club, aka Team Duluth.
