One of my favorite things about Christmas is getting and reading all those family update letters. One of these was from Jackie and Dave Tuomi. Along with their family news they also included a snippet that their daughter Hannah will be playing basketball on Jan.15 and the game will be broadcast on ESPN2. So, if interested, watch for the Vanderbilt vs. Tennessee game and cheer for a gal with a local connection.
On Tuesday, Dec. 28, the guys who go to the “Learning Table” at Black Bear Grill went to Sunnyside Health Care Center in Cloquet and had a Learning Table session there so that Leo Dahlberg could join them. Jerri Haugan from the cafe even attended and brought the sign they have on their table at Black Bear Grill. Bob Pearson brought Finnish pulla bread and Mary Jo Stenson sent cookies and candies for the guys to enjoy. People attending were Arnold Dahl, Bub Stenson, Jim Sloan, Andy LaMotte, Dennis Cieluch, Jerri Haugan, Bob Pearson, Jay French and of course Leo Dahlberg. They all had a great time visiting.
I got an e-mail from Gary Peterson (brother of the late Lorraine Hamren) and he let me know a little about her daughters. Gale is married with two children and living with her husband, who is in the Air Force, stationed in Kathleen, Ga. Linda has one child and is living in Maple, Wis. He also wants to greet Larry Hamren as he hasn’t seen him for a couple of years.
