A semi loaded with ceiling tile overturned sideways into the median on Highway 33 in Cloquet this morning. According to Cloquet Police Chief Wade Lamirande, the driver was headed south on 33 when a second vehicle pulled into his lane. The semi driver tried to avoid the vehicle and accidentally went to far to the left and was sucked into the ditch.

Lake City Towing of Wisconsin brought 11 workers to the accident site to unload the trailer full of ceiling tiles and transfer it to another truck, then to get the truck out of the median. It was raining as they were working, with one lane of southbound 33 blocked off, but temperatures are expected to drop later today and turn into a freezing rain and snow.

Lamirande said it will be a several hour job to unload the trailer and to get the specialized equipment needed to right the rig.
