Ashland senior Jack Pearce received a bye into the quarterfinals of the Wisconsin Division 2 state wrestling meet and will begin his quest for a 120-pound championship Friday morning.
The state meet runs today through Saturday at the University of Wisconsin Fieldhouse in Madison.
Pearce (46-1), the Sectional 1 champion, will face the winner of today’s first-round match between Sheboygan Falls sophomore Alex Fitzgerald and Little Chute sophomore Bryce Zdanovec.
Fellow Oredockers senior Tyler Hudack (34-9) faces Oconto Falls junior Mitchell Friedman (38-5) in a 132-pound first-round match at 7:15 p.m. today.
