A Carlton County man is facing criminal charges after indoor marijuana-growing operations were uncovered in two counties.

According to the Pine County Sheriff’s Office, a search warrant was executed Tuesday at a large commercial building in Askov. Officers located a large hydroponic marijuana operation in a hidden room. Officers executed a search warrant at the suspect’s Barnum house, finding another hydroponic marijuana growing operation in the upstairs of the garage.

According to Pine County Sheriff Robin Cole, the 400 plants found in the two searches ranged from 2 inches to 5 feet tall. They had an estimated street value of $150,000.

Cole said the suspect was arrested but has not yet been charged.

The searches were the result of an investigation between the Pine County Sheriff’s Office and the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office and involved officers from Pine, Carlton, Ramsey, Chisago and Isanti counties; the Minnesota State Patrol; and the Moose Lake Police Department.
