College softball: Cloquet's Gustafson highlights UMD recruiting class

Cloquet infielder Dalyce Gustafson is one of six seniors to sign national letters of intent to play at Minnesota Duluth.
Gustafson has anchored Cloquet’s infield the past five springs and is a three-time all-Lake Superior Conference selection. She was a member of the 2011 News Tribune all-area team and has lettered five times in hockey and four times in cross country for the Lumberjacks.
Rounding out the UMD class is catcher/utility player Ashley Lewis of Minnetrista, Minn., catcher Abbey Nelson of Ham Lake, Minn., pitcher/utility player Cayli Sadler of Brooklyn Park, Minn., outfielder Ashley Schilling of Papillion, Neb., and infielder Sam Schnyder of Waconia, Minn.
UMD finished last spring 33-17 overall and 18-4 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, advancing to the NCAA Division II tournament for the second straight year and third time in the past five seasons.
