Man found dead of self-inflicted gunshot wound

A Twin Cities man was found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound last Saturday in the Ditchbanks area west of Cloquet, according to Lt. Rick Lake of the Carlton County Sheriff’s Office.

A Twin Cities man was found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound last Saturday in the Ditchbanks area west of Cloquet, according to Lt. Rick Lake of the Carlton County Sheriff’s Office.

The 47-yer-old man had been reported missing for about a week prior to that time.

Lake said bird hunters came across his pickup truck while hunting in the Ditchbanks around 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon. Upon further investigation, they discovered his body inside the cab of the truck and reported the incident to authorities.
