The first meeting of the All-School Reunion Committee met at the Country Inn in Cromwell on Aug. 26. There were six folks in attendance. Jennie Hanson was chosen chairperson; Lindsay Lally, secretary; and Linda Larson and Barb Dahl, co-treasurers. Ann Heikkila and Aurelia Hemmila also attended. The date has been chosen, also. The 120th anniversary of Cromwell School will be held July 2, 2011, at the school. This date was chosen because it is the best date for the school and the committee thought that most folks will incorporate the reunion with family gatherings over the weekend of the Fourth of July. We will need more folks to come forward to help get the names and addresses of all people who graduated or ever attended the Cromwell-Wright School, so please call me, e-mail me or come to the next meeting at 6 p.m. Sept. 2 at Linda Larson’s home. If you have the addresses for your class, please let me know so we can get the notification letters to you so you can get them mailed out soon.
We offer our sincere sympathy to Myrna Kempi Wells Ulland and family on the death of her 22-year-old granddaughter, Brandi Frakie, on Aug. 25, 2010. She is the daughter of Myrna’s son, Todd Wendling. Please keep her parents, Todd and immediate families in your prayers. This is a difficult loss for all of them. Brandi was a beautiful woman, intelligent, athletic, compassionate and loving. She was on scholarship for women’s hockey at Wayne State University in Detroit and a pre-med major.
