WLSSD board elects officers

The Board of Directors of the Western Lake Superior Sanitary District has elected its new slate of officers for the coming year.
Deb Hill of Cloquet will serve as board chairperson. Dave Manderfeld of Cloquet is vice chairman. Al Katz of Duluth is secretary. Guy Unertl of Cloquet is treasurer.
The WLSSD is governed by a nine-member citizen board. Four members are appointed by the City of Duluth, three by the City of Cloquet, one is elected by the Carlton County cities and townships within the district and one elected by the St. Louis County cities and townships.
The board oversees administration of the district’s wastewater and solid waste duties and the WLSSD mission to protect the St. Louis River and Lake Superior.
