April Jean (Oles) Magdzas went home to heaven with her baby girls on Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010. April was born on April 3, 1984, to Gene (Bud) Oles and Susan (Maslowski) Ulsby in Cloquet, Minn. She graduated from Carlton High School in 2002 and continued her education at the University of Wisconsin-Superior, earning a degree in art therapy and graduating in the spring of 2010. April had been employed with Community Education and worked with residents who suffer from traumatic brain injuries. She had been hired by Duluth East High School, and looked forward to coaching the cheerleading squad this fall. April was a very loving mommy to her daughter, Lila Jean, and was looking forward to the birth of her second daughter, Annah Helen-Mae. She was a very loving daughter, sister and friend to many people who knew her and loved her deeply. April loved to knit (a gift that was handed down from her grandma) and sew and would make gifts for friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Bernard and Helen Maslowski, and paternal grandparents, Leonard and Jennie Oles.

April is survived by her mother, Susan (Joe) Ulsby; father, Gene "Bud" (Tatiana) Oles; brothers, Ben (Britlee Lund) Oles and Shawn (Tina) Oles; step-brothers, Ben and David Ulsby; sisters, Lisa (Duane) Godbout and Jennifer (Jason) Quiggin; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, family and countless friends who will miss her dearly.

Lila Jean Magdzas went to heaven with her mommy on Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010. She was born to April (Oles) and Matthew Magdzas on July 19, 2009, in Duluth, Minn. Lila became a shining light to her mother and all who deeply loved her. She enjoyed spending time with her grandparents who knew she could do no wrong and loved playing with her toys and exploring the world around her. Lila liked to play "Where's Lila?" and she loved to give kisses and hugs. Lila loved to dance from the time she was only a few months old. She even danced to the heartbeat of her little sister.
