College hockey: UMD women ranked No. 7

After splitting a pair of exhibition games last weekend to open the season, Minnesota Duluth is ranked No. 7 in two Division I women’s polls released this week.
The Bulldogs dropped one spot in the U.S. College Hockey Online and USA Today-USA Hockey Magazine polls following an overtime win and loss against the Minnesota Whitecaps. Wisconsin (2-0) remains No. 1 followed by No. 2 Cornell and No. 3 Minnesota.
UMD begins the regular season Saturday and Sunday afternoon home games against No. 5 Boston College.
