College volleyball: Minnesota Duluth sophomore outside hitter Kate Lange racked up 55 kills in three Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference sweeps to earn conference offensive player of the week honors.

College volleyball: Minnesota Duluth sophomore outside hitter Kate Lange racked up 55 kills in three Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference sweeps to earn conference offensive player of the week honors.

Her 6.11 kills per set was highlighted by a 22-kill performance at Northern State. Lange hit .336 for the week while adding 3.44 digs per set and 10 total blocks for the nationally ranked Bulldogs (11-0, 3-0).

  • Itasca Community College freshman Megan Sobtzak of Coleraine was named Minnesota College Athletic Conference setter of the week for totaling 57 set assists in wins over Mesabi Range and Hibbing. Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College sophomore Rachel Sanda of Cloquet was the MCAC libero of the week, setting a school record with 38 digs in a loss to Vermilion. Hibbing sophomore Jenna Zmyslony of Barnum was the MCAC all-around player of the week for recording 30 kills and 38 digs.
